 Seeking a Financial Project Assistant

The position is located at Universitat Pompeu Fabra (Barcelona, Communication Campus), @ the Synthetic, Perceptive, Emotive and Cognitive Systems (SPECS) research group (www.specs.upf.edu). SPECS is a multidisciplinary research group lead by ICREA Research Professor Paul Verschure, whose research mission is to understand mind, brain and behavior through constructing synthetic, perceptive and cognitive systems.
 
The SPECS research Group is seeking a financial project assistant.
 
The overall target of the position will include the following responsibilities:
 
• Be part of the SPECS PMO (Project Management Office), with special focus on financial and administrative tasks
• Communication with internal (UPF Research Services, Secretary of the Department) and external stakeholders (project partners, clients, public administration, etc)
 
Main tasks:
 
• Project administration and financial follow-up for all the ongoing research group projects (including ERC grant, FP7 and H2020 projects, Plan Nacional i+D);
• Contribution to the financial reporting to public administration
• Coordination of travel arrangements and international meetings related to all the ongoing research group projects
 
Minimum requirements:
 
• Bachelor, university degree or equivalent experience;
• Excellent knowledge of English language (written and spoken)
• Strong IT skills (especially Excel)
• General experience with assisting in office work
• Some previous experience of European projects would be an advantage

• Experience in supporting organization of events
 
About the position:
 
• This position is temporary (4 months, cover for maternity leave with the possibility to extend after that period)
• Full-time dedication. Working hours: Monday-Friday: 9 am to 6 pm
• Salary according to experience of the candidate: gross annual salary ranging from 20 000 – 23 000 Euros
• Starting date: September 2015
