The Barcelona Cognition, Brain and Technology summer school Aug 31st to September 11, 2015.
The BCBT2015 summer school is part of a series of events organized by the European coordination action Convergent Science Network of Biomimetics and Neurotechnology CSN II http://csnetwork.eu/ The school is hosted by the group SPECS at the Unversitat Pompeu Fabra campus of PobleNou
BCBT is positioned at the interface between biology and future and emerging technologies with an emphasis on the principles underlying brains and their translation to avant-garde technologies. This is the 8th year of BCBT, which ran with great success in previous years thanks to an excellent line-up of outstanding speakers (see http://bcbt.upf.edu/ for previous editions of the school)
The atmosphere of the school is informal with the goal to stimulate in-depth discussion. Talks take place in the morning, usually only 2, with the afternoons reserved for tutorials and projects for students or further discussion for senior scientists.
For the 2015 edition we have planned a 1st week (31st Aug, 4th Sept) addressing Evolutionary and Developmental aspects of nervous systems and behavior
The 2nd week (7th - 10th Sept) will be addressing Behavioral and neuronal aspects of Decision Making.
