SPECS participated on Saturday, with a demonstration on how to study the brain with virtual reality and interactive 3D tools as developed by Brainx3.com. On Sunday, we talked about Neurorehabilitation technologies to recuperate brain and body function after brain injury. People were invited to discover the Rehabilitation Gaming System - RGS - invented by SPECS, a training system based on virtual reality gaming, movement and observation that can improve motor and cognitive activity of people who have suffered a brain injury. http://www.eodyne.com
s/The general public has shown great interest in these topics and participation was simply great!
More On Sunday with demos about "Biomimetic Robots to understand our behavior." Thanks to robotics we can study aspects of brain function, such as for instance learning and social behavior. We invited people to get to know this world with a few examples of 3D printed robots, such as the balancing robot and Codibot made by SPECS, as well as the NAO robot, and to discover aspects of our own behavior. A workshop based on research carried out by our group in the European projects : EASEL and WYSIWYD .
People love robots and participation to this demonstration was spectacular! Children were simply mesmerized by our behaving robots and were happily dancing along with the NAO.
